Bicyclist Struck By Hit-And-Run Driver In Darien: Police
The incident occurred at the intersection of the Post Road and West Norwalk Road on Aug. 15.

DARIEN, CT — A 31-year-old Norwalk man was issued misdemeanor summons for evading responsibility and failure to yield on Aug. 15 after he allegedly struck a bicyclist and then drove off at the intersection of the Post Road and West Norwalk Road, according to police.
Whether the bicyclist suffered injuries in the 3:30 p.m. crash was not disclosed, but he was able to snap a photo of the driver's license plate which helped police track him down.
"The bicyclist told officers that he stopped on the sidewalk to wait until it was safe to cross the intersection," wrote Darien police in a statement. "A vehicle on West Norwalk Road stopped at the stop sign and waved the bicyclist across. As he crossed, a vehicle made a left turn onto West Norwalk Road and struck the bicyclist. The offending vehicle initially stopped and asked the bicyclist if he was okay, but then left the scene. The bicyclist was able to take a picture of the plate on the vehicle."
