Blue Wave Ski Team races after Blizzard Juno
Maggie Skeats and Carly Schoudel race for the girls varsity team
Darien, CT. January 28, 2015 – The Darien High School Ski Team raced after the Blizzard Juno on fresh packed powder snow against high school ski teams representing Amity, Greenwich, Hopkins, Litchfield, New Canaan, and St. Luke’s at the Mt. Southington Ski Area.
The Girls Varsity Team with a time of 326.70 finished 5th defeating Amity 357.75, Hopkins 343.60, and Litchfield DSQ while losing to Greenwich 315.40. The Boys Varsity Team with a time of 330.58 finished 9th defeating Litchfield 370.56 and St. Luke’s 347.26 while losing to Greenwich 299.93, Amity 324.90, New Canaan 327.48 and Hopkins 324.85.
Girls’ times this week were Katharine Graham 49.22 (Co-captain), second fastest time on the mountain, Taylor Hart 50.21 (Co-captain), Maggie Skeats 51.03, Carly Schoudel 53.33, Maddie Corman 60.72, Maggie Reilly 62.19, Isabel Sutherland 62.30, Victoria Klarer 62.79, Emma Keleghan 67.39, and Katie Schorr 70.29.
Boys’ times this week were Graham Skeats 53.20 (Co-captain), Chris von Stuelpnagel (Co-captain) 53.43, Ben Wilson 53.70, Slater Lovegrove 55.50, Grant Noble 56.74, Hayden Nackley 58.01, Sean Collins 58.35, Seth Canaday 58.55, Gray Kline 59.82, and Will Brandon DSQ.

Coach Brian Zeyer said, “Wednesday night was a good night for the girls ski team. They came out and beat 3 out of the 4 teams they were racing. This gets them back into the mix for qualifying for states.”
Coach Marc Power said. “It was great to finally have good snow conditions for racing.”
