Car Wash Burns at Noroton Ave. Shell [Video]

Update, 11:15 p.m.:

Jazzi Zaib, a Shell Station employee, described his encounter [video] with Tuesday night's car wash fire.

Zaib said he ran outside after noticing smoke in the station's bathroom but wasn't able to locate the fire. 

He then went upstairs, but was unable to breathe due to heavy smoke. When he finally entered the car wash, he spotted the flames and called 911.

Fire swept through the interior of the car wash at a  on Noroton Ave. late Tuesday, bringing the to the scene.

The blaze, which was reported at 10:07 p.m., was extinguished within several minutes. Firefighters could be seen spraying water into the attic portion of the structure.

Fire Marshal Bob Buch was on the scene (164 Noroton Ave.) inspecting the damage as of 10:30 p.m. The cause had not yet been determined, but Buch's investigation was focused on part of a heater in the car wash.
