Carey Karlan of Last Detail Interior Design Honored in Recent Competition

Carey Karlan of Last Detail Interior Design in Darien was honored in this year's A-List Awards competition for home design in the county.

An announcement from the organizers of the A-List Awards:

Darien’s Carey Karlan of Last Detail Interior Design has been named a finalist in Moffly Media’s 2014 A-List Awards for the fourth time in the ceremony’s five years.

Perpetual nominee Karlan was nominated in the Kids’ Bedroom category this year, having won in the past in the Dining Room and Kids’ Bedroom categories. The submission transformed a spacious bedroom suite into a dreamy escape for a teen girl.

Judge Gary Brewer, a partner of the New York-based Robert A.M. Stern Architects, lauded the design’s “sophisticated palette” and the combination of texture and pattern.

In the separate sitting room, Karlan started with a glam silver-and-sea glass wallpaper with a large pattern. Luscious fabrics like chenille and furs lend a sense of feminine luxury, and the large velvet headboard and cushy pillows are as beautiful as they are inviting.
