Carver’s NCC Scholarships Get A Boost From Darien Rotary

The Rotary is hosting the "Spring Into Wellness! Fair" on March 21.

(Rotary of Darien )

From Rotary Darien: The Carver Foundation of Norwalk ( https://www.carvernorwalk.org/ ) has been chosen by the Rotary Club of Darien as beneficiary of its Spring Into Wellness! Fair fundraiser on Thursday, March 21 from 11:00am – 2:00pm at Darien Office Suites, 30 Old Kings Highway South, 1st Floor Event Room, in Darien. All event proceeds will go toward scholarships that enable Carver high school graduates in need to cover the cost of attending Norwalk Community College for a full year, estimated at $5000.

Carver provides after-school and summer programs for over 1,400 K-12 students at the Carver Community Center as well as 13 schools in Norwalk and one in Bridgeport, emphasizing a positive, safe and fun learning environment. Since 2005, 100% of Carver seniors have graduated from high school on time. Almost all go on to become first-generation college students, greatly expanding their range of employment opportunities. Darien Rotary member Patrick Steele, who introduced The Carver Foundation to the Rotary Club, is a member of Carver’s Gala, Development and Marketing Committees and a Norwalk resident.
