Cash Register Stolen In Smash-And-Grab At Darien Gas Station: PD

The theft occurred on the Post Road on Aug. 19.

DARIEN, CT — A cash register containing an undisclosed, but small, amount of money was reported stolen last week from a Shell gas station in the 800 block of the Post Road in Darien, according to police.

When an employee arrived at the station at about 6:15 a.m. on Aug. 19, he found the glass front door was broken and contacted the police.

"When reviewed, the security camera system caught a male walking around the building around [4:30 a.m.]," Darien police said. "The suspect can be seen shattering the window with a hammer, entering the premises, and exiting with the cash register in his possession."
