Cash Stolen From Locked YWCA Office In Darien, Cops Say
The petty cash was discovered missing on July 5.
DARIEN, CT — Petty cash was reported stolen from a locked office at the YWCA in Darien, and detectives are investigating, according to police.
The complainant told police that she first noticed the money - a total of approximately $56 - was missing on July 5. It had been in the petty cash pouch located in a drawer in her locked office.
"Over the next couple of days, the complainant attempted to locate the money assuming it had been taken by a co-worker," police said in a statement. "[On July 8], the complainant noticed pry marks around the door to her office, and noted that the locking mechanism seemed to be partially damaged."

Additionally, while officers were on scene, they discovered that other office doors appeared to have been pried as well, however, nothing other than the missing petty cash was found to be missing.
