DARIEN, CT — A wallet and a tuck's catalytic converter were among items stolen from cars parked in Darien last week.

In a news release, Police Sgt. Dan Skoumbros said a Herman Avenue resident reported a wallet stolen from her vehicle on Dec. 7.

The resident told officers she was reviewing footage from her ring camera and saw a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants enter her vehicle, which was unlocked, around 6 a.m. The suspect was last seen running down the driveway, where two vehicles were waiting for him, Skoumbros said.

The resident told police fraudulent charges had also been made at a store in Bridgeport using her bank card, Skoumbros said.

That same day, a Hollow Tree Ridge Road resident reported a piece of his truck stolen. According to Skoumbros, the resident said he heard a loud noise when he tried to start his truck, checked under the vehicle and noticed its catalytic converter had been stolen.
