Cocaine, 'Oxy' Pills And Pot Seized From Norwalk Man: Darien PD

The incident occurred following a traffic stop.

DARIEN, CT — A 58-year-old Norwalk man is facing a host of narcotics charges after Darien police seized cocaine, dozens of Oxycodone and imitation OxyContin pills and several ounces of marijuana from his vehicle and home, according to authorities.

The incident began at about 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 13 when Michael ODwyer, of Split Rock Road, was pulled over by Darien police for speeding on Hollow Tree Ridge Road.

"As the officer spoke with the driver, identified as Michael ODwyer, he detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle," wrote Darien police in a statement. "When asked about the odor, ODwyer initially denied knowing the cause. When asked if there was any contraband in the vehicle, ODwyer stated 'probably not.'"

However, a search of the vehicle turned up the following:

  • Ziploc bag containing marijuana
  • Several large Ziploc bags (7.6oz) with cocaine / $400 cash
  • 126 glass vials with cocaine residue in them, packaged in varying numbers inside plastic baggies
  • 15 Dilaudid pills
  • Ziploc baggie containing cocaine
  • 5 glass vials containing cocaine
  • 90 Oxycodone Pills
  • 19 Imitation OxyContin Pills
  • 3 marijuana laced chocolate edible items
  • 3 THC oil cartridges
  • Notebook containing a ledger of narcotics transactions
  • Scale

In total, 11.05 ounces of cocaine and 51 grams of marijuana were found in ODwyer’s vehicle, according to Darien police.

After taking ODwyer into custody, Darien police searched his home and discovered another 12 ounces of marijuana.

ODwyer was charged with:

  • Possession of Narcotics
  • Sale of Marijuana
  • Illegal Storage of Narcotics
  • Sale of Illegal Drug
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Operation of Drug Factory
  • Possession of over 4 Ounces of Marijuana

He was held in lieu of bail of $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court at a later date.
