DARIEN, CT — The Community Fund of Darien, a leading organization in the Fairfield County nonprofit funding sector, today announced the retirement of Executive Director Janet King, effective Nov. 1.
King has served The Community Fund of Darien for six years, during which time she has significantly contributed to the growth and success of the organization. Under her leadership, The Community Fund of Darien has achieved numerous milestones, including energizing the organization’s volunteer base and increasing brand awareness.

This year, The Community Fund of Darien awarded its largest volume of grants in its 73-year history, totaling $790,500. King’s vision and passion have positively impacted countless lives in Darien, Norwalk, and Stamford, inspiring The Community Fund of Darien to strive for excellence in our community.
"I am passionate about the good work we do at The Community Fund of Darien," said King in a news release. "Reflecting on my time with The Community Fund of Darien, I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together. It has been an honor to work alongside such a talented and dedicated team."

The Board of Directors thanked King for her "unwavering commitment and visionary leadership."
"Janet has been instrumental in guiding The Community Fund of Darien through pivotal moments and ensuring its continued success. We wish her all the best in her retirement," said Brandi Maniscalco, Board of Directors president.
