The Community Fund Of Darien Seeks Nominations To Honor Local Volunteers

The 47th annual volunteer celebration is upcoming for The Community Fund of Darien.

DARIEN, CT — The Community Fund of Darien is accepting nominations for its 47th annual volunteer celebration, an event that recognizes residents who support local nonprofits and community members through volunteer service.

Darien residents may be nominated in several categories:

  • Outstanding Emerging Volunteer (18 and younger)
  • Outstanding Adult Volunteer (19–64)
  • Outstanding Senior Volunteer (65 and older)
  • Outstanding Volunteer Duo
  • Outstanding Volunteer Family
  • Outstanding Volunteer Team (three or more individuals dedicated to a cause)
  • Outstanding New Volunteer - (one year of service or less to a single organization.

Nominations must be submitted online by March 16 through the organization’s website. After the deadline, submissions will be reviewed by the group’s volunteer recognition panel. Honorees will be selected and notified, with public announcements planned for late March.

Since 1979, the organization has recognized residents for volunteer contributions of time and service to the community.

This year’s celebration is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, at 5:30 p.m. at The Meadowlands at The DCA. The event is free and open to the public.

The 47th annual event is sponsored by Bankwell, Brown Harris Stevens, PURE Insurance and USI Insurance Services.
