The Community Fund Of Darien Seeks Nominees For Volunteer Celebration

DARIEN, CT — The Community Fund of Darien is seeking nominees for its 46th annual volunteer celebration to recognize "unsung heroes" who have done outstanding volunteer work for a nonprofit cause.

Nominees, who must be Darien residents, are sought for the following categories:

• Outstanding Emerging Volunteer (18 years and younger)
• Outstanding Adult Volunteer (19 - 64 years)
• Outstanding Senior Volunteer (65 years and older)
• Outstanding Volunteer Duo
• Outstanding Volunteer Family
• Outstanding Volunteer Team (three or more individuals dedicated to a cause)
• Outstanding New Volunteer (1 year of service or less to one organization)

Nominations are due March 14 via online submission on The Community Fund of Darien’s website. The Community Fund of Darien’s volunteer recognition panel will review nominations and announce decisions by late March.

Since 1979, The Community Fund of Darien has been recognizing individuals whose dedicated efforts make a difference.

This year, The Community Fund of Darien will honor Darien’s extraordinary volunteers on Tuesday, April 29 at 5:30 p.m. at The Meadowlands at The DCA. Admission is free and open to the public.

"The Community Fund of Darien is proud to recognize the impact they make and to celebrate the very best of our town!"

Since 1951, The Community Fund of Darien says it has granted over $28 million to local nonprofits and community initiatives, impacting thousands of lives in the community. Local investments distributed as grants in Darien, Norwalk, and Stamford target basic needs, community health, youth success and workforce development.
