Connecticut Conference of Municipalities to Lay Out Goals in Face of Cuts
The conference is led by mayors and first selectmen. It will release a report as towns take municipal aid funding hits from the state.

The Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM), led by key mayors and first selectmen, will present a major report on a “new way forward” for Connecticut cities and towns on Wednesday that represents significantly new and different thinking by Connecticut municipal leaders, said Joe DeLong, CCM Executive Director.
The news conference will take place at 11 a.m. at Wethersfield’s Keeney Memorial Cultural Center in Wethersfield.
Connecticut towns are bracing for cuts to their municipal budgets as the state continues to try and find ways to eat into a projected $1.5 billion deficit. In fact, towns have already taken big hits – having their education cost sharing grants recently cut by $20 million.
