Convicted Child Rapist Found in Darien Sent Back to Idaho
He will face charges of parole violation.

DARIEN, CT—A convicted Idaho rapist was extradited back to his home state to face charges of parole violation.
Brian Cook, 35, was found sleeping in Cherry Lawn Park with a machete. It is believed he was only in Darien for a few hours before someone spotted him.
Cook was being held in Bridgeport Correctional Center since he was arrested Sept. 13, according to the Stamford Advocate.

He later admitted to police he was attempting to make it to Canada, according to police.
Cook raped a 13-year-old girl between 20 and 30 times over the course of weeks, according to the Post Register.

Police received a report of a sleeping man Sept. 13 around 7:30 a.m. and quickly located the man, who was later identified as Brian Cook, 35.
Cook initially told police he was walking from Denver to Bangor, Maine, in honor of his deceased daughter, police said.
Officers determined Cook wasn't being truthful and arrested him. It was learned that Cook is a fugitive from justice from Idaho.
He was charged with interfering with police, two counts of possession of a dangerous weapon, violation of a town ordinance and fugitive from justice.
