Darien Arts Center Summer Camps and Classes

Performance Kids Camp (Ages 3-5), Monday-Friday, 10:20am-12:50pm. Session 1: June 11-15, Session 2: June 18-22, Session 3: June 25-29, Session 4: July 23-27, Session 5: July 30-Aug. 3. 1 week $200, 2 weeks $380, 3 weeks $540, 4 weeks $700, 5 weeks $850. Young children will create a mini show. They will create a basic costume, create scenery, learn songs and dances, and on the final day, they will perform in a mini show. This camp includes 3 classes: art, music and dance, a lunch break and some fun free time.

Let's Put On A Show! Art, Dance & Theatre Production Camp (Gr. 1-4), Monday-Friday, 10am-1:15pm, July 9-20, $500. Older children will explore the many facets of producing a show. Come create scenery and props in our art class; learn songs and dance numbers in our dance class; learn your lines in our theatre class and then put it all together for an incredible final production on the last day.

Pre School Martial Arts (Ages 3-6), Thursdays, 10:30-11:15am, July 12-Aug. 16 (6 classes), $100. Children will learn basic martial arts, play martial arts games, and learn basic tumbling. No uniform necessary.

Pre School Ballet (Ages 3-6), Tuesdays, 10:30-11:15am, July 10-Aug. 14 (6 classes), $100. Young dancers will learn basic ballet steps in a fun, creative atmosphere

Dance Intensive (Grades 3-6), July 16-27, 1:15-4:15pm, $480. This intensive will include 3 dance classes each day for all levels. The classes will include jazz, tap, ballet, modern and hiphop. There will also be classes in theater arts, improv and yoga. There will be a brief showing on the last day.

Ballet Intensive/Pointe By permission only, Level 3 and up, Monday-Friday, 1:15-4:15pm, July 30 - Aug. 17, $480. A ballet technique intensive for intermediate and advanced students including pointe work. There will be a showing on the last day.

Choreography Intermediate & Advanced, Weds. 6:00-7:15pm, June 20 - Aug. 15 (no class July 4) (8 classes) $140 full session or $20 per class. This class will explore many different styles of dance technique, concentrating on a different style each class.

Martial Arts (Ages 4-12) 5-6pm, Tuesdays, June 19 – Aug. 14 (9 classes), $160. This class will teach children the art of Karate. It is designed to refine motor and organizational skills, improve self-discipline, teach proper behavior through respect and self-control, teach self-defense and of course to have fun! This class will meet in the DAC Weatherstone Studio. Class will be separated into mixed age groups.

Private Music Instruction Piano, guitar, violin, voice, flute, cello, saxophone. 30-minute lesson $50, each 45-minute lesson $75 each, One-hour lesson $99 each. Lessons are prorated and tailored to each student’s and teacher’s individual schedule beginning on June 18 through August 18. Payment for the term of lessons is due before the first lesson and is payable to the DAC. Tuition is non-refundable. All lessons are scheduled in agreement with instructor.
