Darien Awarded Certificate Of Excellence In Financial Reporting

This marks the 32nd consecutive year Darien has received the award

DARIEN, CT — Last week, Darien was notified by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) that the town has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, according to First Selectman Monica McNally's recent community newsletter.

The award was for Darien's annual comprehensive financial report - FY ending June 30, 2022. This marks the 32nd consecutive year Darien has received the award, McNally said.

"The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment," McNally noted. "Thank you to Jennifer Charneski for her leadership and professionalism in the role as Director of Finance for the town of Darien."
