Darien To Begin Budget Review Process Soon

DARIEN, CT — With New Year's right around the corner, the town of Darien will soon begin its budget review process for fiscal year 2023-24.

On Jan. 5, the Darien Board of Education will hold a special meeting in which Superintendent Dr. Alan Addley will present his proposed budget. On Jan. 7, a regular BOE meeting will be held to go over proposed personnel, operating and equipment spending plans for several departments.

Meetings and hearings will continue throughout January. Approval of a BOE budget is scheduled for Feb 14.

The Board of Selectmen will hold its first budget review meeting on Jan. 30 at 5:30 p.m., and then on Jan. 31 in room 206 at Darien Town Hall. Another meeting is scheduled for Feb. 1.

The Darien Board of Finance will begin its budget review on March 7, with a final budget vote scheduled for April 6.

The Darien Representative Town Meeting will have the final say on the spending plans during their meeting on May 8.
