Among the proposed changes are moving January and February staff professional development days to March and May, revising and reducing elementary conference dates, and incorporating two built-in emergency closing days that could shift the last day of school depending on weather-related closures.

In addition, the board will hold a first reading and discussion of the proposed 2027-2028 school calendar. That draft also includes two emergency closing days and outlines school holidays, breaks, conferences and professional learning time. Final approval for both calendars is scheduled for a future meeting in May.
