The Notre Dame of West Haven boys hockey team used a three-goal second period to defeat Darien 4-1 Friday afternoon at the Darien Ice Rink.
After Ryan Lynch gave the Green Knights a 1-0 lead 2 1/2 minutes into the second period, Jack Knowlton tied it for Darien five minutes later.
But Alex Esposito answered for Notre Dame less than a minute later and Colby Cretella scored with 1:58 left in the period to give the Green Knights a 3-1 lead.

Paul Sliwinski made 18 saves for Notre Dame while Max Rothson stopped 30 shots for Darien.
