DARIEN, CT — A local woman was arrested on April 5 after police said she was involved in a fight at a restaurant on the Post Road. The Darien Times reported that the woman is the owner of Laurent Lighting and Design, which has locations in Ridgefield and Darien.

The 54-year-old woman, who lives in Ridgefield, was charged with disorderly conduct and released on a written promise to appear in court, police said.

On April 5 shortly after 6 p.m., officers responded to La Taqueria on the Post Road on a report of two patrons physically fighting. Officers spoke with the reporting party, who said the arrestee made a comment about her ethnicity, which she took offense to, police said.

The reporting party started to record the arrestee with her cell phone, and the arrestee hit the phone out of her hands twice, police said. When the woman tried taking another photo, the arrestee knocked the phone out of her hand again and followed her back to her seat and continued to yell, police added.

Through witness interviews, officers were able to determine there was enough probable cause to charge the woman.
