Darien Cops To Receive Award for Sabato Case
A judge found that Anthony Sabato provided the gun used to kill Darien Officer Ken Bateman.

DARIEN, CT- Five Darien Police personnel will receive the United State's Attorney's award for their work on the Anthony Sabato case.
Sabato is the only person of interest in the unsolved homicide of Officer Kenneth Bateman, according to the Darien Times.
Sabato was sentenced to more than 13 years in prison for a drug trafficking case. Darien and West Haven police worked together on the case.

Sabato conspired to distribute drugs between March 2013 and March 2015, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut office.
Co-conspirator Miguel Joel Roman of Hartford and Sabato sold two ounces of crack to an undercover officer for $4,000. More crack and drug paraphernalia were found in a subsequent search of Sabato’s apartment. He pleaded guilty in July to conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute 280 grams or more of cocaine base.
Sabato has had 35 convictions since 1975 for a variety of crimes including firearms, gambling, fraud, burglary and assault.
