Darien Coronavirus Updates: 20 Confirmed Cases, State Says

Local businesses also have pitched in to help the Darien Police Department with meals and masks.

DARIEN, CT — The number of confirmed cases of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) has reached 20 in Darien as of Friday, according to state health officials.

Statewide, the number of cases is 1,291, and there have been 27 deaths in Connecticut from complications of COVID-19.

In Fairfield County, the number of confirmed cases is 752 as of Friday, and there have been 15 deaths, state officials said.

Other Fairfield County communities as of Friday:

  • New Canaan, 18 confirmed cases (New Canaan's Emergency Management Director Mike Handler puts the number at 24 as of Friday)
  • Norwalk, 105 confirmed cases
  • Stamford, 76 confirmed cases
  • Greenwich, 77 confirmed cases
  • Westport, 95 confirmed cases
  • Wilton, 25 confirmed cases
