Darien Education Cost Sharing Funds Cut 47 Percent
The cut comes in the middle of a fiscal year.

DARIEN, CT — Darien First Selectman Jayme Stevenson tweeted that Darien took a $369,000 hit to its Education Cost Sharing funds from the state.
The cut is 47 percent of Darien's ECS funds.

Greenwich's cut is more than $1.3 million and is among the biggest cuts to ECS aid from the state, according to the Hartford Courant.
Gov. Dannel Malloy's budget chief Ben Barnes said in a letter to legislative leaders that the cut was made now to save as much money as possible before the end of the state's fiscal year June 30.
