Valentine’s Day is a day that drums up visions of red roses, chocolate and jewelry bestowed upon your loved one all in the name of love. Shouldn’t every day be dedicated to this great emotion? In the midst of my scoff at this over-hyped celebration I was delighted to stumble upon the talented and passionate Jacqueline Stone.
Ms. Stone, who spent her youth running down the shores of Weed Beach, is the owner and founder of Salt + Stone. With her mission “to make the world more beautiful”, Ms. Stone boasts some lofty goals, but I was quickly swept up into her world of hopeless romance. Her jewelry is powerful, thoughtful and incredibly detailed. When we spoke she talked about the beauty behind her work. “Ask anyone about a piece of fine jewelry they are wearing and you will always get a story. I want to be a part of that process and I’ve come to understand that fine jewelry is a tangible realization of a powerful memory in someone’s life”.
You too can step into Jacqueline’s world of romantic fantasy. This year for Valentine’s Day she has created a stunning collection of cultured colored diamonds and exotic sapphires aptly named ‘Kaleidoscope’. The GIA graduate and Tiffany Alum recently partnered with lab-grown colored diamond company, Pintura. It seems a perfect match as the company name is a nod to ‘Chemistry + Geology’ or the scientific process that creates gemstones deep within our earth’s core. Ms. Stone was fascinated that a technology exists where we can replicate this chemical marriage above ground. The diamonds are 100% real, vivid, more affordable and allow her client’s to have a ‘feel good’ purchase. When asked for comment she declared, “Jewelry with meaning. That is what it’s all about.”
