After erupting for 10 goals in its previous game against Trumbull, the Darien field hockey team received a much tougher test on Friday from its biggest rival.
But two goals were enough as Hollis Perticone and Samm Wright led the Blue Wave to a 2-0 home victory over New Canaan.
Despite graduating 13 seniors, the defending four-time state champions improved to 10-0 this season and extended their unbeaten streak to 86 games (83-0-3). Darien has not lost since 2007.
