
DARIEN, CT — A man was taken to the hospital after he was injured during a Holmes Avenue fire April 6.
Emergency crews responded around 12:51 p.m. and found flames on the front porch, front exterior wall and a portion of the roof, police said.
A 55-year-old resident tried to put the fire out with water while two other residents waited outside.

Firefighters managed to contain the fire, but the structure sustained heavy damage.
The 55-year-old suffered burns to his forehead and hands and appeared to be suffering from smoke inhalation. He was taken to Stamford Hospital.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
