DHS Girls Soccer Shocks Top Seed Watertown
Freshman Dillon Schoen scores only goal in Blue Wave's 1-0 victory

The Darien girls soccer team may have experienced an up-and-down regular season, but the Blue Wave are making plenty of noise in the CIAC Class L state tournament.
Freshman Dillon Schoen scored the game's only goal in the first half Thursday, as the 16th-seeded Blue Wave stunned top seed Watertown, 1-0, in a second-round contest.
Darien (12-6-1) will play at No. 8 seed Bunnell in the quarterfinals Saturday at 2 p.m.

Schoen scored into the far corner of the goal, and the Blue Wave made the early goal hold up with stifling defense. They focused on Jessica Spezzano, Watertown's 22-goal scorer.
Darien is looking to advance to the semifinals for the first time since 2002.
