Darien Good Wife’s River Chapter DAR Marks Graves Of Patriots

Darien's Good Wife's River DAR Chapter, Inc. recently marked the graves of 13 Revolutionary War patriots buried in Noroton.

DARIEN, CT — Darien's Good Wife's River DAR Chapter, Inc. recently placed American flags and red roses to symbolically mark the graves of 13 Revolutionary War patriots buried in the Noroton River graveyard on the Post Road in Darien. Guest speaker, David E. Polett, read the names and service records and a short biography of each patriot.

The Chapter honors the memory of former member, the late Marianne Sheldon, who mapped the cemetery in 1988, and the late Sharon Kells, who with current GWR Vice Regent Tracy Root, spearheaded the cleanup of this and other abandoned Darien cemeteries in 2016.

Cemetery maps will soon be available at the NSDAR Library in Washington, D.C.
