Darien High School Freshmen Lacrosse Coach Arrested On Campus
The warrant arrest occurred Thursday afternoon.

DARIEN, CT — Raul Bourgeois, lacrosse coach of the freshmen team at Darien High School, was arrested on a warrant Thursday afternoon while on campus, according to Darien police.
The warrant for Bourgeois' arrest was out of Waterbury, and Darien police were quick to add in a written statement that "At no time were students at Darien High School at risk." Bourgeois was turned over to Waterbury authorities after Darien police picked him up.
Details of the circumstances surrounding the warrant and the arrest were not immediately available. The Darien Times reported that Darien High School Principal Ellen Dunn notified parents via email following the arrest Thursday.

Below is text from the Darien Police Department's statement about the arrest:
On May 10th, 2018 at approximately [2 p.m.] the Waterbury Police Department contacted this agency in regard to an individual, identified as Raul Bourgeois, who was believed to be within our jurisdiction and for whom they had an active arrest warrant. Bourgeois was believed to be on the campus of Darien High School.
Detectives from the Darien Police Department were able to locate Bourgeois at Darien High School and take him into custody. He was transported to Darien Police Headquarters where he was immediately turned over to Detectives from the Waterbury Police Department. At no time were students at Darien High School at risk.
