Darien High School Hosts Jazz Festival March 1
Started in 2014 by Darien High School Band Director Jonathan Grauer, the festival will feature nine bands from eight towns.
DARIEN, CT — The sweet sounds of jazz will come to Darien High School on Friday.
Started in 2014 by DHS Band Director Jonathan Grauer, the festival will feature nine bands from eight towns that will play throughout the day, beginning with Darien's Middlesex Middle School at 3:30 p.m., and concluding with the DHS Jazz Band in the finale at 8:30 p.m.
The festival will feature judges David DeJesus, chair of jazz studies at Purchase College, director of the Birdland Big Band, and Music Director for Ron Carter’s Great Big Band; and Adam Birnbaum, assistant professor of jazz at SUNY Purchase and a Steinway artist.

Tickets are $10 and available for purchase here. Audience members are welcome to watch any of the performances throughout the event.
