Darien High Ski Team Results

The season had been delayed, but things are in full gear now.

After a long delay to start the season, the Darien Boys and Girls Ski Teams hit the snow on Wednesday, 1/27 at Mount Southington against 12 teams including perennial favorites Staples, Ridgefield and Wilton.

The girls team won the race with an incredible 7 second margin over the second place team, Staples. Darien was led by Captain Maggie Skeats who finished 3rd (49.95) out of 109 varsity racers. She was followed closely by 5 of her team mates Devin Hart 11th (51.97), Lane Anderson 13th (52.09), Captain Carly Schoudel 22nd (53.28), Adelaide Spain 27th (54.24) and Alli Lowitz 28th (54.95).

Coach Brian Zeyer said, “He is really excited about this young team with only one senior. Some of our top racers made mistakes but still finished well. We have a lot of potential.”

The boys were led by Captain Brooks Daley who finished 11th (50.24) out of 122 varsity racers. He was supported by 3 freshman Jack Lowitz 59th (56:15), Alex Barlow 60th (56.35), and Folke Bruno 79th (59.49)

Coach Zeyer said, “This team is young too but tons of potential as everyone gets bigger and stronger.” Sophmore Will Wilson rounded out the top five for the boys 75th (58.93).
