The incident was reported late Sunday night, Aug. 20.

DARIEN, CT — Some cash and jewelry were reported stolen from a residence on Maple Street in Darien late Sunday night, Aug. 20, according to police.
No one was home that evening, and when the homeowner returned after 11 p.m. they discovered the rear door was unlocked so he immediately contacted police and exited the home until officers arrived.
"Police found several attempted points of entry upon inspection, but it appeared the suspect(s) gained entry though a bedroom window," wrote Darien police in a statement. "Most of the house appeared to have been rifled through. A quantity of cash and some jewelry were reported missing from the master bedroom. The suspects finally exited through the rear door."
