Darien HS Football Playoffs: Blue Wave Hosts East Hartford

Darien hosts East Hartford this evening, Nov. 28. A traffic advisory for the area near the school has been issued by the police department.

The Darien High School Blue Wave football team will host East Hartford at 6:30 p.m. tonight, Nov. 28, in one of the Connecticut Class LL quarterfinal games.

Darien enters the contest with a 9-1 record on the season and is ranked #3. East Hartford is is also 9-1 on the season and is ranked #6.

The Darien Police Department has issued the following traffic advisory for tonight's game:

The Darien Police Department will enforce traffic regulations and monitor security for Darien High School’s night football game, to be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 P.M.

All traffic will enter the DHS campus from Noroton Avenue. High School Lane and Nutmeg Lane will be closed to incoming traffic. Spectators are strongly urged to carpool.

Due to the large number of vehicles expected, parking regulations and designated tow away zones will be strictly enforced. A handicap permit is required to park in the limited handicap parking spaces available. When parking capacity has been reached, Noroton Avenue extension will be closed to vehicular traffic.

Spectators are reminded that no alcoholic beverages are allowed on school property and this will be strictly enforced. No tailgating will be allowed on school property.

All bags, backpacks and coolers will be subject to inspection. Spectators will not be allowed to bring bottles into the game.

At the conclusion of the game, incoming traffic will not be allowed onto DHS campus grounds until the parking lots are clear.
