Darien HS Parents Association Looks To Donate Funds For Bike Racks

The Darien Board of Education will consider the gift during its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday.

DARIEN, CT — The Darien Board of Education on Tuesday will consider a gift from the Darien High School Parents Association for new bicycle racks at DHS.

According to the agenda for Tuesday's regularly scheduled school board meeting, the DHS Parents Association is looking to contribute $5,000 for the purchase and installation of four bicycle racks which would be located on the permitter of DHS. The racks wold allow students to store their bikes safely throughout the day.

Tuesday's meeting will take place in-person at Darien Public Schools' administrative offices at 7 p.m., with the public portion of the meeting starting at 7:30 p.m.

The meeting will be broadcast online. Those wishing to participate in public comment should join via Zoom. Those wishing to view only are encouraged to watch on YouTube.

Also on Tuesday, the school board will get an update on mental health and wellness from DPS Director of Mental Health Dr. Alycia Dadd.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Alan Addley will also give an update on the search process for a new assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction.
