Darien Launches Website For Plan Of Conservation And Development Work

DARIEN, CT — Residents can keep up with the town's work to update its Plan of Conservation and Development on a new website that was launched this week.

A POCD serves as a guiding document for municipalities and establishes a long-term, 10-year vision for the community. It contains goals, policies, and recommendations for investing in the physical, economic, and environmental aspects of a community in accordance with that vision, the town said.

A new or updated POCD is needed every 10 years; Darien las adopted its POCD in 2016.

According to the town, the process of developing a 2026 POCD is expected to take approximately 16 months to complete.
