Darien Library Proposes Higher Wages
A salary increase would help retain and recruit librarians, the library director told town officials.

DARIEN, CT — The director of the Darien Library is proposing higher starting wages in order to compete with nearby library systems.
Director Alan Gray told the Board of Finance that a five percent salary increase would help recruit and retain librarians, according to the Darienite. To sign up for Darien breaking news alerts and more, click here.
Darien Librarians start at $52,650 if they have a master of library science degree. Greenwich starts at more than $60,000 and Westport starting librarians start at nearly $64,000.
