Darien Man Accused Of Sending Threatening Text Messages: Cops

The arrest occurred on Sept. 1.

DARIEN, CT — A 28-year-old Darien man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly sending threatening text messages to a victim in Florida, according to Darien police.

Zach Comboni, of Tokeneke Road, was charged with second-degree threatening late Saturday night after Darien police received a tip about messages that he allegedly sent.

"The content of the texts specifically threatened to commit a crime that would cause a reasonable person to fear for their safety," wrote Darien police in a statement.

"Comboni admitted to sending the texts to the victim the previous night but was intoxicated when he did so.
Comboni also stated that he was not serious about the texts that he sent," officials added.

Darien police collected evidence from Comboni's home and held him in lieu of bail of $100,000. He was scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Sept. 4. at the scene and the content of the texts, Comboni
