Darien Man Charged with DWI in Connection with Serious Crash

One of the man's passengers was ejected from the vehicle.

DARIEN, CT—A 21-year-old Darien man was arrested in connection with a serious motor vehicle crash.

Police responded to the accident on Hanson Road Aug. 20. around 9:30 p.m.
A passenger was ejected from the vehicle and another passenger sustained facial injuries that required hospital transport, police said.
James Reilly's Chevy Blazer drove off the road and struck a stone wall and tree, police said.

Police obtained a search warrant for Reilly's medical records and determined his blood-alcohol level was "significantly" over the legal limit when he crashed.
Reilly turned himself in Sept. 23 and was charged with two counts of second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, DUI, reckless operation and improper turn.
He was released on a $35,000 bond and will appear in court Oct. 3.
