Darien To Mark Flag Day With Ceremony

Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the stars and stripes as the official flag of the United States.

DARIEN, CT — The Darien Monuments & Ceremonies Commission will hold a brief ceremony on June 13 to commemorate Flag Day, which is held each year on June 14.

The ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Town Hall circle. Eagle Scouts will conduct a ceremonial flag-folding ritual, and a new flag will be flown.

Worn U.S. flags will be collected until 10:30 a.m. to ensure proper disposal.
