Darien posts an 8-1 record in a Little League tournament that featured 104 teams from around the country.

The Darien National Little League team, which advanced to the semifinals of the district one playoffs last month before losing to North Stamford, recently put on an impressive performance while competing in a 104-team tournament at historic Dreams Park in Cooperstown, New York.
The squad posted an overall record of 8-1 record in the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame Week 9 tournament, which featured teams from all over the country. Participants came from as far as California, Arizona and Texas.
Darien was seeded fifth in the tournament based on its 6-0 record during the "regular games" played earlier in the week. Those games began last Sunday, with tournament contests getting under way on Wednesday.
