Darien Officials To Rethink Future 4th Of July Celebrations: Report
While this year's event was still enjoyable, some miscommunication disrupted the annual fireworks display at Darien High School.

DARIEN, CT — Future July 4th celebrations in Darien will run more crisply, following a move by town officials to improve the planning and communication process after some missteps during this year's fireworks display at Darien High School, reports the Darien Times.
While the event was still enjoyed by many residents, town officials and organizers had not been told in advance about a trench that had been dug on the field for the installation of lights. The trench partially blocked the stands.
Additionally, some flammable materials near the field caught fire during the display, which damaged portions of the turf, according to the publication. Town and Board of Education officials hope to speak more frequently prior to the event in future years.
