Darien Open Houses Oct. 10-11: A New Build With A Sauna Leads 3 Homes Open This Weekend

DARIEN, CT — Darien's open-house lineup this weekend is short and big: a Colonial making its debut near the Talmadge Hill train station, a 1970 contemporary on more than two acres with its own pool house, and a 2023 build with a sauna and steam room.

Three Darien homes are holding open houses Saturday, Oct. 10, and Sunday, Oct. 11, with prices from $2,699,000 to $6,995,000, according to Zillow.com.

Saturday, Oct. 10

53 Country Club Road, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (also Sunday, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.), $2,699,000. This updated 1969 Colonial on a cul-de-sac is new to the market this week. The remodeled eat-in kitchen opens to a sunny eating area and a two-story family room with a vaulted ceiling, built-ins and a fireplace, and the first floor also has formal living and dining rooms, a home office and a playroom with a second fireplace. The finished lower level adds a full bath, a mudroom and space the listing says could serve as a sixth bedroom or gym. It's a five-bedroom, 4.5-bath home with 4,084 square feet on half an acre, and the listing notes it is in the Ox Ridge School District.

Sunday, Oct. 11

222 Brookside Road, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., $3.9 million. Set on 2.19 acres near Cherry Lawn Park, this 1970 contemporary has tall ceilings and a flexible floor plan, which the listing says could include a first-floor in-law or guest suite. Outside are a pool and a pool house with a full bath, laundry hookups and a full kitchen, plus an attached four-car garage and a detached two-car garage. Zillow lists it as a five-bedroom, 5.5-bath home with 10,000 square feet, about 3,000 of them on the lower level; the listing describes four bedrooms.

460 Middlesex Road, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., $6,995,000. Built in 2023 by Ritzzo Development, this contemporary Colonial sits on two acres with a heated saltwater pool and a built-in barbecue. Inside, a chef's kitchen with a marble waterfall island opens to a breakfast room, the great room has a wet bar, a vaulted beamed ceiling and a double-height fireplace, and the lower level holds a bar, a media room, a gym, a sauna and a steam room. The five-bedroom home with six full and two half baths has 10,213 square feet. Its price was cut by $505,000 on Oct. 6.

Make a weekend of it: Country Club Road is open both afternoons from 1 to 3 p.m., so it fits either day. On Sunday, start at Brookside Road at 1 p.m. and finish on Middlesex Road, which stays open until 4.
