Darien P&Z To Continue Boston Post Road Gas Station Hearing, Weigh Heights Road Redevelopment Project
Here's a preview of the upcoming Darien Planning & Zoning Commission meeting.

DARIEN, CT — The Darien Planning & Zoning Commission is scheduled to meet Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 7 p.m. in Room 206 at Town Hall for an in-person session that includes continued public hearings on redevelopment proposals along Boston Post Road and projects in coastal residential neighborhoods, along with deliberations on a mixed-use project that would add housing to Heights Road.
The Jan. 27 Planning & Zoning Commission meeting was canceled.
A key item on the agenda is the continuation of a public hearing on a proposal by Standard Realty LLC to raze the existing gas station and service buildings at 805 Boston Post Road and redevelop the site with a motor vehicle service station featuring six self-service fueling positions, a roughly 2,800-square-foot convenience store and on-site parking.

The 0.43-acre property sits at the corner of Boston Post Road and Sedgwick Avenue in the Central Business District. The public hearing first opened Oct. 28, 2025.
The commission will also hold public hearings on two residential applications involving regulated coastal or flood-prone areas. One proposal at 30 Plymouth Road seeks approval to construct a two-story garage addition, expand a driveway and add a pool, pergola and patio areas, along with related regrading and stormwater management.

Another application at 27 Contentment Island Road proposes a new pool and spa with associated patios and drainage improvements within a regulated area.
During the general meeting, members are expected to review an amendment to a special permit and site plan for Wee Burn Country Club, which proposes renovations to exterior terraces and outdoor patio areas, and a one-day amendment request from The Mather Homestead Foundation to allow more than 150 attendees and food sales for America's 250th anniversary celebration on May 2.
The agenda also lists deliberations only on a previously heard proposal from Heights Corner LLC to redevelop 90, 100 and 188 Heights Road with a three-story mixed-use building that would include ground-floor commercial space and 20 one- and two-bedroom apartments, along with parking, landscaping, lighting and stormwater improvements.
