The lights are expected to cost $750,000.

DARIEN, CT — The Planning and Zoning Commission voted to approve a proposal to install permanent field lights at Darien High School.

The Darien Athletic Foundation will pay the full cost of the project and expects to raise $750,000 by May 1, according to the Darien Times. So far $400,000 has been raised.

Only varsity teams will be allowed to play under the LED lights and its expected that there will only be a dozen lighted games per year.
