Darien PD Arrest Suspect In Car Theft And Home Burglary
The incidents occurred in August of this year.

DARIEN, CT — A 35-year-old suspect, who has been arrested by Norwalk and Greenwich police on separate charges, was arrested by Darien police this week in connection with multiple home and vehicle burglaries in Darien, authorities announced.
Kurt Vanzuuk, whose last known address was Linden Street in Norwalk but who has also lived on Pacific Street in Stamford, was arrested on a warrant at Stamford Superior Court on Nov. 20.
"In late August of 2017, the Darien Police Department investigated several overnight car burglaries, car thefts, and the overnight burglary of home on Noroton Avenue," according to a department release. "During the home burglary, the suspect stole two laptop computers while the residents were sleeping."

Greenwich police arrested Vanzuuk the same month in a car that had been reported stolen from a home on Rocaton Road in Darien. The vehicle, which had been left unlocked and with the keys inside, had been reported stolen two weeks earlier, according to Darien police.
"During a search of the stolen vehicle, officers located clothing, personal checks, and two laptop computers," wrote Darien police. "Darien Police Detectives were able to determine that the clothing was stolen from an unlocked vehicle at an additional Noroton Avenue residence on August 26, 2017, and that the personal checks were stolen from an unlocked vehicle at a Tanglewood Road residence on August 28, 2017. It was also confirmed that the two laptops were those that were taken in the overnight burglary of the Noroton Avenue home on August 21, 2017."

Vanzuuk was charged by Darien police with the following:
- 1 Count of Burglary 2rd Degree
- 2 Counts of Burglary 3rd Degree
- 1 Count of Larceny 3rd Degree
- 1 Count of Larceny 5th Degree
- 1 Count of Larceny 6th Degree
He was issued a $40,000 bond and remains in the custody, and he is scheduled to appear in court again within a month.
