Darien PD Investigates After $1,200 in Data Charges Reported

Police are investigating after a company reported that a mobile hotspot device was hacked and $1,200 in data charges was used.

DARIEN, CT- Police are investigating after an insurance company on Thorndial Circle reported that its Verizon mobile hotspot device was hacked and $1,200 in data was used.

Police took the report on March 30 as a larcenycomplaint.

The data was used in the month of March. The device is typically only used by the company in emergency situations and believes that someone from within the office building used the data.
