Darien Piranhas Take the Hardware in Hamden for 2nd Year
The Darien Y Piranhas take the Hardware in the Hamden Hall Aquatics Pentathlon for the second Year.
The Piranhas traveled to Hamden, CT on Saturday, December 6th for the Hamden Hall Aquatics Pentathlon.
In a Pentathlon the athletes swim 50 yards of all four strokes, plus they compete in a 100 individual medley (25 yards of butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle without stopping).
The top 6 fastest combined overall times in each age group (9/10, 11/12),and each gender, are awarded trophies.

Max Scalise took 2nd place in the boy’s 9-10 age group; Halle Spataro took 6th place in the girl’s 11-12 age group; Tam-Hao Nguyen took 1st place for the 9-10 girls, and John Barsanti took 1st place for 11-12 boy’s. Tammy and John are repeat champions from last year.
