Darien Police Announce 'Landmark And Historic' Accomplishment
The department noted the accomplishment "signifies a commitment to excellence, accountability, and community trust."
DARIEN, CT — The Darien Police Department on Tuesday announced its endorsement of Connecticut POST-C State Tier III Advanced Accreditation, calling it a "landmark and historic" accomplishment.
Approved by the POST Council on Nov. 13, 2025, this means the department "has met the highest level of state-mandated professional standards." The process involved implementing rigorous policies, procedures, and management practices.
The department noted the milestone "signifies a commitment to excellence, accountability, and community trust, ensuring operations meet the most professional standards in law enforcement."

"Our agency will continue to demonstrate our unwavering efforts to progress in providing professional public safety service," said Darien Police Chief Jeremiah P. Marron Jr.
Throughout the process the DPD needed to meet comprehensive, professional standards across a variety of areas, including liability, professional conduct, and general management with the goal of enhancing public confidence, improving service delivery, and promoting professionalism within the department.

"Achieving this milestone demonstrates the Darien Police Department’s continued focus on community safety and we remain dedicated to serving Darien with excellence, accountability, and pride," Marron added.
