Darien Police Captain Retires After More Than 30 Years Of Service
The Darien Police Department recently honored the career of Capt. Robert Shreders following his retirement this month.
DARIEN, CT — The Darien Police Department recently honored the career of Capt. Robert Shreders following his retirement Tuesday after over 30 years of service.
Police announced Shreders' retirement last week in a post on the department's Facebook page.
According to police, Shreders was appointed April 1, 1990, and has faithfully served the department with honor and distinction in many aspects of its departmental operations, both in field and administrative services.

"Captain Shreders," the post reads, "for your almost 32 years of dedicated and honorable service to the men and women of the Darien Police Department and to the town of Darien as a whole, we offer our best wishes for a long, healthy and prosperous retirement. You have been a stellar model to those coming up through the ranks on how to perform this job with unquestioned integrity and a well-reasoned sense of fairness and dignity."
