Darien Police Department Swears In New Officer
The department welcomed in a new officer on Monday.

DARIEN, CT — The Darien Police Department on Monday welcomed a new officer into the ranks, according to an announcement on Facebook.
Matthew McDonald was sworn in by Police Commissioner Kevin Cunningham, and he was presented with his badge by Darien Police Chief Don Anderson.
McDonald is a native of Norwalk, the department said. He received a bachelor's degree from St. John's University and a master's degree in criminal justice from the University of New Haven.

The department said he will go through a rigorous training program at the Connecticut Police Academy in Meriden beginning in early July.
